Charlesworth Bicentenary
Two small mills at Woodseats were owned by Mr Thomas Ratcliffe. One of them, the Higher Woodseats, or Kinder Brook Mill the other one known as Lee Valley Mill, was let to Mr John Harrison.
At Lee Valley there was a disaster in 1831 when the stream forced down the wall and while persons working on the ground floor escaped one man and two women working on the second floor were not so fortunate and their bodies were later found near the mill.
